Bergamot (Citrus Bergamia), is cultivated on the Ivory Coast, Southern Italy and Sicily and has a sweet, citrusy aroma. Bergamot is often used in aromatherapy to treat stress, depression, low self-confidence and anxiety.
Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata) is a tropical species of flower cultivated in Java, Madagascar, the Philippines, Reunion and Sumatra. It has a powerful, fruity and floral aroma. Ylang Ylang essential oil has been found to contain mood boosting properties, and is often used – through aromatherapy – to alleviate anxiety, pacify depression and lower blood pressure.
Rosewood (Aniba Rosaeodora), found primarily in Brazil, is known to contain analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties. Aromatherapists have long used Rosewood to repel depression and sharpen the mind, thanks to its stabilising effect on the nervous system.
Geranium (Pelargonium Graveolens) is cultivated in China, Egypt and Reunion, and known for its calming, sedative and anti-inflammatory properties. Through diffusion, this essential oil is said to help balance the mind, ease depression, and calm anxiety.
